The trio Ostraka presents an unusual
combination of bowed and plucked strings through the talents of Josh Lee
(viols), John Lenti (lute and theorbo), and David Walker (lute and
guitar). Their varied program will feature works by Antoine Forqueray and
Louis de Caix d'Hervelois, the last great viol virtuosi of the French
Baroque. In 2010 Ostraka released a recording, Division, that
traced "development of improvisation, diminution and ornamentation
through some of the greatest and most-loved works for bass viol and
lutes," and their performances have been attracting enthusiastic
reviews.

“This
is one solid ensemble that play even the most exasperatingly difficult
music with total elegance and care.”
