José Miguel Moreno, from Madrid, is one of the world's leading performers on historical plucked string instruments. He specializes in historical interpretation, with a wide-ranging repertory, and he often plays on original instruments. Moreno, with his wife, has done extensive research on the building of ancient instruments of the lute and guitar family. He has taught at prestigious universities and conservatories throughout the world. He will be presenting a program of music for Renaissance lute by Ortiz, Cabezón, Dowland, and others. He records for the Glossa label. His album "Spanish Guitar (1536–1836)" has sold nearly 30,000 copies.

…one of the great Spanish musicians of our century.”
