| Lorna
Peters has delighted AEMS audiences before, most recently in a special
harpsichord recital as part of its twenty-fifth anniversary celebrations.
For today's concert she appears with award-winning violinist Jubal Fulks as the baroque duo sensation Corde à vide. Both active solo performers, the two joined forces in 2008 with the goal of presenting early music on period instruments in an exciting and accessible way. Their concert programs reflect a balance of solo and duo repertoire that highlights the varying national styles of the 17th and 18th centuries. Described as "fiery" and "brimming with inspired improvisation," they present a program that
ranges from Heinrich Biber to Georg Muffat to J.S. Bach. |
|
“...enthusiastic, suave,
and skillful. The rhythmic flexibility of the playing, free without being
mannered, gave a wonderful vividness and sponteneity to the music.”
